Overview
The freight logistics industry is a "people" industry – attraction, retention, training and career-path advancement are key to building the freight workforce of the future.

The morning will showcase resources and initiatives in employment, training and people development within the freight logistics sector.

Career Practitioners and representatives from schools, local learning & employment networks, regional career advisers, Job Services Australia, vocational and higher education institutions, adult education centres, and registered training organisations will join with industry representatives to discuss collaborative efforts to make the freight logistics industry an employment destination of choice.

The afternoon offers an informative discussion on Australia’s new industrial laws, which came into effect on 1st July 2009 and will have a direct impact on the way you recruit, train and manage your staff.

Leading Queens Counsel, David Galbally will oversee input from the Fair Work Ombudsman, Employers, the ACTU & the TWU, leaving participants with a clear understanding of the new laws.
